Types of Injectables at Westchester Surgical Arts
Injectables offer a minimally invasive way to reach and maintain a youthful look with no downtime. There are two main forms—Neuromodulators that contain botulinum toxins such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers that restore volume and “fill in” lines and wrinkles. Follow up treatments are needed to improve or maintain all injectable results. We offer a variety of injectables at Westchester Surgical Arts, including:
BOTOX® Cosmetic & Dysport®
These products work by limiting or stopping muscle movements that lead to the formation of lines in the forehead, between the brows, and on the outer corners of your eyes (Crow’s feet). BOTOX® or Dysport® treatments take just 15-30 minutes and require no downtime. Results can last three to five months.
Juvéderm™ Dermal Fillers
The Juvéderm™ line of dermal fillers uses a hyaluronic acid gel that smoothens out fine lines and creases around the nose and mouth by restoring lost volume. Juvéderm can also be used for lip augmentation for plump lips. Juvéderm Ultra Plus is a more powerful variation that addresses deeper, more severe wrinkles. Juvéderm Voluma XC is the only injectable FDA-approved as a non-surgical treatment for cheek volume restoration. Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini often recommends Voluma XC for those who wish for an immediate improvement of profile contour.
Juvéderm treatments take approximately 15-30 minutes, and the longevity of the results depends on which form of Juvéderm is used. Juvéderm Voluma XC can last up to two years while others may last six months to a year. Follow up treatments are needed to improve or maintain results.
Radiesse®
Radiesse® is a unique calcium hydroxylapatite-based dermal filler that reduces wrinkles and fine lines and increases volume to provide a youthful facial contour. This injectable also triggers collagen growth over time, which makes it an excellent and enduring method of facial rejuvenation. As your body absorbs the filler solution, collagen production increases to preserve the fullness of Radiesse® results. Radiesse® treatments require little time and can be done over your lunch hour, and you can enjoy the volumizing benefits for up to a year.
Sculptra®
Sculptra® is an anti-aging injectable that works beneath the skin’s surface to replace lost collagen and volume. This dermal filler can smooth out deep nasolabial folds, smile lines, chin wrinkles, and flattened temples and cheeks. Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini introduces the Sculptra® solution into key areas of the face to steadily restore a youthful appearance over a series of 15-to-30-minute treatment sessions. Sculptra® is an effective alternative to traditional surgical facelifts. After your initial injections, you’ll start to see subtle improvements that ultimately lead to significant, long-lasting facial rejuvenation for two years or longer.
Restylane®
Restylane® is a clear gel that is designed to act like your body’s naturally produced hyaluronic acid. This dermal filler can visibly correct facial wrinkles and folds (such as marionette lines and nasolabial folds or smile lines) and increase lip volume. The Restylane Lyft® can boost your cheeks and smooth out smile lines by adding fullness to your mid-face region. Your wrinkle-free appearance and fuller lips can last from six months to a year.
Kybella® Double Chin Treatments
Kybella® is the first injectable that is FDA-approved to target the submental (beneath the chin) fat that causes a “double chin” appearance. This injectable uses deoxycholic acid, which is a natural fat absorber your body already produces. The safe solution works to liquefy and decrease the stubborn fat found beneath the chin without any incisions, scarring, or lengthy recovery. Individual results do vary, but Kybella® can provide our Westchester patients with a long-lasting solution to the double chin dilemma.
Depending on your cosmetic goals and the amount of excess fat targeted with Kybella® treatments, Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini may recommend a series of up to six sessions. Each treatment takes 15-20 minutes and may include up to 50 injections. Kybella® sessions are scheduled around one month apart, and studies indicate the vast majority of patients see significant results after four treatments with this injectable. Results may be permanent if you maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.
Excessive Sweating Treatments with Injectables
Hyperhidrosis is a condition that brings about inordinate amounts of sweat in the armpits, hands, palms, feet, and face. This condition can be safely treated in the comfort and privacy of our Westchester, New York facility. The same botulinum toxin that makes BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® so powerful on wrinkles is what makes for an effective way to curb excessive sweating.
The minimally invasive treatment will limit sweat production for three to five months after each treatment. While individual outcomes vary, you’ll start to notice sweat reduction within a few days of your session. There’s usually no preparation necessary, and each treatment takes 15-30 minutes. Follow-up maintenance treatments with further injections can keep your heightened perspiration at bay.
